Miranda C. asks: "AHH, WILL MY TEETH MOVE? :/ PLEASEE READD..THANKSS !?

"okay so i got my braces off in augustt 2008.
my orthodentist gave me a retainor to help my bite, NOT a retainor to keep my teeth from moving. she said to come back in thrree months.

well...about that :/

its beeen...nine months..and i didn't wear my retainorr for my bitee constantly..its removablee and she said i can wear it wen i come home from school since i cant talk with it in..and well i never did it very often at all...

i do it here and there but now, HARDLY.

and im scared that my teeth are gonna move..my predictions are that her plans were to give me my bite retainor for three months..come back with my bite being fixed..and then once i come back she'll givve me a retainor to prevent my teeth from moving...

but since i never rele wore my retainor for my bite, if i go back now..she"ll like yell at me for not wearing it ...but i want to go backk bc i thinkmy teeth are starting to move...not noticalbe..but i noticed if i felt my one side of my toop teeth, one tooth is getting a little outta place compared to the other side..
and im RELE scared that my teeth will moveee and be all crookeddd..my teeth were SOOOOO bad before i got braces..likee nooooo jokeee..so..any opinionss?

should i tryy to start wearing my bite retainor and in three months go backk and see wat she says about my teeth?

or should i just go back right awayy..idk if she"ll yell at me tho...

and how long does it take for your teeth to movee after you get ur braces off without a retainor..PLEASE HELP IM SCARED OVER THIS...thank youuss :)"

I would definitely start wearing the retainer for your bite. If it feels like it doesn't fit then call your orthodontist. They can check your teeth and see if the retainer needs to be replaced or if your teeth have moved to the point where you may need braces again.

3 months after August 2008 was November 2008... so technically, it's been 9 months since you've gotten your braces off. She's not going to yell at you BUT she might tell you that you have to work with what you've got... meaning, wear the bite retainer that you have and that's all she can do because you're no longer considered a patient of hers since it took so long for you to come back.

It all depends on the policy in the office. And if you're nervous, say so!! Tell the receptionist, tell the assistant, tell the dentist, tell everybody! Dentists are people too and the one thing they hate to hear is that people are afraid of them. They'll try to make you comfortable IF they still consider you a patient.

But definitely start wearing your retainer...
